Lyft (NASDAQ: LYFT) and Mobileye (NASDAQ: MBLY) have announced a new partnership to advance the widespread commercialization of autonomous vehicle (AV) services.
Mobileye will provide its AV technology, integrated into vehicles by specialized manufacturers, to enable large-scale deployment by fleet operators and transportation providers. This alliance will leverage Lyft's network of 40 million annual riders, offering a robust demand platform for Mobileye Drive™-equipped AV fleets in North American cities.
The partnership will also utilize Mobileye’s new cloud-based AV demand technology to connect AV fleets with operators through Lyft's AV Partner APIs, allowing fleet operators to optimize profitability and utilization. Currently, Mobileye Drive-equipped vehicles are piloted in collaboration with mobility operators in Germany, Norway, Croatia, and the U.S., marking progress in Mobileye’s goal to bring autonomous mobility to more passengers worldwide.
