Vertical Aerospace (NYSE: EVTL) has opened the Vertical Energy Centre (VEC), which is the UK's most advanced aerospace battery facility, in Bristol England. 

The facility is home to a 50-strong battery team developing proprietary technology that will transform what has been possible with battery technology to date. Vertical's battery systems are being tested for use in eVTOL aircraft and have undergone a wide range of testing, including temperature, emissions, and vibration testing. 

The VEC is part of Vertical's strategy to pioneer zero-emissions aviation, and the company has recently secured £14m in funding to further develop its battery technology in partnership with the UK government and University College London.
