Nikola (NASDAQ: NKLA), a leading zero-emissions transportation and energy supply company, and Voltera have formed a strategic partnership to create up to 50 hydrogen refueling stations throughout North America to support zero-emissions vehicles.
Nikola will provide the hydrogen fuel and technical expertise, while Voltera will site, build, own, and operate the stations. The aim is to accelerate the deployment of several billion dollars that Voltera plans to invest in EV charging and hydrogen fueling facilities.
The partnership creates the largest North American open-network of commercial hydrogen refueling stations, making it easier for customers to access and refuel their zero-emission vehicles.
Nikola President, Carey Mendes stated: "Voltera's expertise in building out zero-emission energy infrastructure will be a key enabler for Nikola's first-to-market hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks and fueling infrastructure.”
Matt Horton, CEO of Voltera added: "Voltera's mission is to accelerate the adoption of zero-emission vehicles, by taking on the complex and costly nature of developing the necessary infrastructure."
As a designer and manufacturer of zero-emission battery-electric and hydrogen-electric vehicles, Nikola is driven to revolutionize the transport industry.
Shares of Nikola trade on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol NKLA.
