MicroVision (NASDAQ: MVIS) has released video images showing the integration of its MAVIN DR lidar sensor with newly acquired perception software.
The integration of hardware and software provides a cost-effective, one-box solution for automotive original equipment manufacturers. This acquisition is expected to accelerate the path to a "one-box solution" required by automotive OEMs for a roofline product. The one-box solution enables vehicles to detect and react to their surroundings, which helps to improve vehicle safety and efficiency.
MicroVision's MAVIN DR lidar sensor has dynamic range performance, providing short-, medium-, and long-range sensing and fields of view, with the ability to detect small objects at speeds of up to 130 km/h (80 mph). It is also capable of accurate detection, classification, and tracking of objects, including vehicles, pedestrians, and other moving objects, at distances up to 250 meters.
Sumit Sharma, CEO of MicroVision stated: "We are thrilled to see the software integration happen so quickly. Our engineers in Redmond, Nürnberg, and Hamburg worked as a truly global team to make this happen, and we are all excited about what's ahead for MicroVision."
MicroVision is a technology company that specializes in lasers, optics, hardware, algorithms and machine learning software into its proprietary technology to address existing and emerging markets.
Shares of MicroVision trade on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol MVIS.
