Lucid Motors (NASDAQ: LCID), a leading luxury electric vehicle producer, has introduced RangeXchange, an innovative vehicle-to-vehicle charging adapter. 

Initially, it's available for U.S. customers, allowing Lucid Air owners to directly charge other electric vehicles. This technology leverages Lucid's bi-directional charging and proprietary software already integrated into every Lucid Air. RangeXchange is the first implementation of Wunderbox's bi-directional charging, enabling energy transfer from a Lucid Air's battery pack to another EV at a rate of up to 9.6 kW.

The additional range depends on the receiving vehicle's efficiency and environmental conditions, typically adding 24 to 40 miles of range per hour for most U.S. EVs. U.S. owners can access the RangeXchange feature by purchasing an exclusive adapter cable from Lucid, with activation through an OTA software update later this month.
