GreenPower Motor ($GP) Completes First Round of All-Electric School Bus Pilot Project

GreenPower Motor (NASDAQ: GP) has announced results from the first round of its all-electric, zero-emissions school bus pilot project in West Virginia. The pilot project represents the first real-world testing of the company’s purpose-built, all-electric school bus technology.

Three GreenPower Type D BEAST school buses were deployed on the daily routes in three separate counties of West Virginia. The buses traveled through different kinds of conditions in both city and rural routes and were also used for after school activities.

The first round of the pilot program covered more than 5,400 miles, successfully transporting hundreds of kids on a daily basis and without any incidents. The school bus batteries performed excellent with consumption ranging from 1.1 to 1.5 miles per each percent of State of Charge.

GreenPower says that the second round of the pilot project is now underway with school buses operating in multiple counties. The company has also added a GreenPower ADA Nano BEAST to the pilot project.

GreenPower CEO and Chairman Fraser Atkinson stated: "It's exciting to see first-hand the positive reactions from students, parents, drivers and educators as the first all-electric, zero-emission school buses transported kids in the state of West Virginia."

GreenPower Motor designs, builds and distributes a full suite of high-floor and low-floor all-electric medium and heavy-duty vehicles, including transit buses, school buses, shuttles, and cargo vans.

Shares of GreenPower Motor trade on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol GP.
