Fluence Energy (NASDAQ: FLNC), a global leader in energy storage solutions, has received a TM-2 Certificate of Approval in New York City for its 6th generation energy storage products.
To earn this approval, Fluence demonstrated its systems' capability to effectively prevent and manage thermal runaway incidents, meeting New York's demanding fire safety regulations. In 2022, Fluence conducted an extensive fire test for its Gridstack energy storage product, surpassing industry safety standards. The test showed that in the event of an extreme fire, the system would contain the hazard to a single unit, allowing for swift recovery.
Fluence President John Zahurancik stated: “We complete large-scale fire tests that go beyond the industry’s standards to demonstrate the safety of our energy storage products under the most extreme fire events. Fluence has been at the forefront of incorporating safety features into every level of our energy storage products.”
Fluence, with over 15 years of experience, maintains a strong safety record and has deployed more than 3.7 GW of storage projects in the Americas, totaling over 1 million operating hours and 1,200 GWh of energy discharged. Globally, Fluence has over 7 GW of storage deployed or contracted across 33 markets.
