EVgo Inc. (NASDAQ: EVGO), one of the nation’s largest public fast charging networks for electric vehicles, has introduced an Alexa-enabled EV charging feature with Amazon. This feature allows drivers with Alexa-enabled vehicles and Echo Auto accessories to easily locate and navigate to nearby EV charging stations using voice commands.
The integration leverages PlugShare™, the leading EV community within the EVgo family. With a voice request drivers can access real-time information on nearby charging stations, including availability, plug types, charging speeds, and estimated arrival times. EVgo has also partnered with Audible, an Amazon subsidiary, offering a joint promotion for a 2-month free trial of Audible Premium Plus for EVgo and PlugShare users, enhancing the charging experience with entertainment options after reaching a charging station.
Ivo Steklac, Chief Technology Officer at EVgo stated: “As Amazon’s first charging network for Alexa, we’re thrilled to provide simplified charging experiences for customers with Alexa.”
EVgo is a leader in charging solutions, building and operating the infrastructure and tools needed to expedite the mass adoption of electric vehicles.
