Desktop Metal (NYSE: DM), a global leader in Additive Manufacturing, has announced the installation of four Figur G15 Pro systems with Digital Sheet Forming (DSF) technology at three manufacturers in Wisconsin.
The Figur G15, introduced in 2022, is the first commercial platform to shape sheet metal directly from a digital file using a proprietary tooling system on an XY gantry, applying up to 2,000 lbs of force. It handles sheet sizes up to 1,600 x 1,200 mm (63.0 x 47.2 in) and draw depths up to 400 mm (16 in) without custom tools.
The Pro version of the G15 includes an automatic tool changer, measurement tools, part lubrication, and automated work holding capabilities.
Justin Nardone, CEO of Desktop Metal stated: “Our system produces designs quickly, accurately, and repeatedly, so manufacturers are able to focus on the craftsmanship of design while getting their products to market faster and more efficiently.”
Founded in 2015, Desktop Metal is accelerating the transformation of manufacturing with an expansive portfolio of 3D printing solutions, ranging from rapid prototyping to mass production.
Shares of Desktop Metal trade on the NYSE under the ticker symbol DM.
