CleanSpark (NASDAQ: CLSK), an innovative and forward-thinking Bitcoin mining company, has announced the purchase of 45,000 new Antminer S19 XP Bitcoin mining machines for $144.9 million. Once deployed, the machines will increase CleanSpark's hashrate by 95%.
The agreement stipulates that the manufacturer will prepare 25,000 of the 45,000 units for delivery in August, with the remaining 20,000 units scheduled for delivery in September. CleanSpark intends to deploy all of the machines at its bitcoin mining facility in Sandersville, Georgia, which is currently undergoing a 150 megawatts (MW) expansion. The new units will be installed in multiple batches as they arrive, and all the machines are expected to be fully operational by year-end.
Zach Bradford, CEO of CleanSpark stated: “The Antminer S19 XP is the most power-efficient bitcoin mining machine available in the market today, and a key component in our continuing work to build some of the most efficient bitcoin mining facilities in the country.”
Since 2020 CleanSpark has developed a sustainable infrastructure for Bitcoin. CleanSpark mines bitcoin predominantly with low-carbon energy sources and has had one of the highest hashrate realization rates among its peers since January 2022.
