Aeva Technologies (NYSE: AEVA) and Plus recently unveiled their design for the next generation PlusDrive autonomous truck, which will be showcased at CES 2023.
By sensing precise velocity and position for each point, Aeva's high performance 4 D Lidar sensor helps Plus trucks sense their environment clearly at long ranges and respond faster in safety-critical situations. Additionally, this advanced Lidar technology is able to detect objects that traditional 3 D Lidar and other sensors on the vehicle may miss.
This announcement builds on the partnership between Aeva and Plus, which was first announced in 2021 and involves the use of Aeva's 4D LiDAR sensors to augment the long-range perception system in Plus's automated driving products.
Mina Rezk, Co-founder of Aeva Technologies stated: “Today’s announcement is a milestone in our partnership which gives Plus access to the unparalleled performance of our Aeries II 4D LiDAR sensor. Plus is deploying safe automated commercial vehicle technology and we are pleased to work with them on the design for their next generation production vehicles.”
Aeva Technologies is transforming autonomy with its sensing and perception technology that integrates all key LiDAR components onto a silicon photonics chip in a compact module. Aeva 4D LiDAR sensors allow autonomous devices like vehicles and robots to make more intelligent and safe decisions.
Shares of Aeva Technologies trade on the NYSE under the ticker symbol AEVA.
